While seeking the Lord, I heard the phrase, “Prepare for the overflow!” Friends, I want to encourage you even now to prepare yourself for the overflow that is already being released. I believe this is not something that is coming, rather it has already begun. As it is written in Malachi 3:10, “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’”
When the overflow comes, you will not even have room to contain it in its entirety! Yes, you will even have enough to give some away.
I believe that we are in a kairos time. Just recently, there was a drawing at my local bank to receive a VISA gift card. The bank had set out two large boxes where you could enter for the chance to win either a $50 or $500 gift card. There was no fee to put yourself into the drawing, so I entered for both gift cards and then left the bank, not thinking much else about it. However just a couple weeks later, I received a phone call from my bank informing me that I was the recipient of one of the gift cards. Not only that, but I quickly discovered that had won the $500 VISA!
I learned upon picking up my gift card that a total of 64 branch banks were also included in this drawing. With approximately 200-300 people entering this drawing per bank…well, you do the math! The chances of receiving any gift card, let alone the one for $500, was very slim. However, I know without a shadow of a doubt that God had hand-picked my name. That is the favor and overflow blessing that is being poured out right now in this season!
I am also reminded of the story in the Bible of Ruth and Boaz, when Boaz commanded his workers to drop handfuls of grain for Ruth to collect. He instructed his workers, “Even pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her” (Ruth 2:16). This is just another example of the overflow blessing that God is pouring out upon His people in this season. He is rewarding those who have given and sown faithfully. Be encouraged, for the time of overflow is now!
