” The blessing of the LORD makes [one] rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22 NKJV)
The Holy Spirit has been impressing upon me to share what the Lord showed me with this verse some years ago. It was an eye-opening revelation and I know it is time for the sons and daughters of the Most High God to receive this blessing.
When I looked up the word “sorrow” in Strong’s Concordance, I was shocked at what I found. Sorrow in the Hebrew language is ‘etseb, and the definition includes painful toil! In fact, the New International Version translates the verse as: “The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”
The Lord revealed to me that when we live for His Kingdom, resting in the truth that He is our provider, He is our source of everything that we need, we live from a place of trust. In this place of trust, we are better able to hear His voice and be led by His Spirit. In a place of trust, we are led to give into good works. We hear the mind of Christ and we know when it is time to give – whether in a one-to-one situation where His heart’s burden compels us to give to those in need; when we hear of a good work that Kingdom kids are doing and something in us is moved to add our faith and our resources to their work; when we hear a prophetic word and it lights up inside us and we know we have to give into it. This is walking in the blessing of the Lord, there is no painful inner toil when we give, and we reap a reward from our giving that provides for our every need…with none of the striving and stressing that is the way of the world.
