The grace of God was with David when he defeated Goliath. The five smooth stones he gathered as weapons against the enemy symbolized God’s unmerited favor (His Grace) that would go before him that day and defeat the giant.
His Grace is sufficient for us today in every area of our lives. Just be reminded every time you use your hands to create and your feet to walk. Five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot are reminders to you that His Grace goes before you in every area of your life. When you are weak, Grace will show itself even stronger!
“David said, “The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and may the Lord be with you.” –1 Samuel 17:37
“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.” –2 Corinthians 12:9
